Records of my Souder ancestors begin with Jacob Sowder and Anna Rosenberger. They are my 8^th Great Grandparents. Our oldest known ancestors are Jakob Rosenberger (1616- 1681) and Verna Pletcher (-1657). The numbers after the names indicate our direct line of ancestors.

Christian Souder ²
He came to Pennsylvania on the ship, St Andrew on 27 Oct 1738. He purchased a track of land owned and occupied by Paul K Fisher near the Indianfield Lutheran Church (Little Zion). He died at his farm.

Christian Souder ³
He and his wife, Mary Oberholtzer, are believed to be buried at Franconia Meeting-house, but there are no marked graves. She was a daughter of Jacob and Deborah(Maldemen) Oberholtzer. They lived on the Erwin J. Moyer farm on East Chestnut St., Souderton. He served in the Revolutionary War-enrolled in 3rd class, 4th company, 5th battalion, Phila. County militia, under Capt. John Cope, from Franconia Township. They had 5 children.

Abraham B Souder/Sauter ⁶

Abraham was the first Sexton of the Little Zion Lutheran Church. The 1880 census shows that Katie Ellen Fluck was his 3-year-old granddaughter living with Abraham and Leah Souder.

Abraham and Leah Souder’s daughter, Catherine, died at the age of 23 in 1879. Her daughter, Katie Ellen Fluck was motherless, and at age 3 was living with her grandparents according to the 1880 census
